In June 2012, and again in June 2014, the Pennsylvania Senate unanimously confirmed my nomination to be appointed as Judge of the Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County, the Fifth Judicial District of Pennsylvania. The Supreme Court of Pennsylvania assigned me to the Family Division of the Court where I presided over: juvenile dependency and juvenile delinquency cases; and, adults in custody, divorce, equitable distribution, protection from abuse, child support and contempt cases. I also:
? Volunteered to preside in the Court’s Criminal Division in Veterans Treatment Court to address the unique risks and needs of veterans serving probation.
? Volunteered to preside in the Court’s Civil Division for arbitration appeals.
? Developed and supervised the Family Division’s “Model Custody Court” to ensure the prompt disposition of custody cases.
? Consulted with Duquesne University and the DPW’s Bureau of Autism Services to develop training for law enforcement for diversion of autistic juvenile offenders.
